Study library

A study for the lower ground floor of this London townhouse draws inspiration from historical astronomical mapping, with backlit representations of heavenly bodies and marquetry inlay details reflecting the cartographic references.

A stone relief carving we commissioned from Cambodia forms the backdrop in an external light-well, and depicts a scene from the Hindu Ramayana story of Rama vs Ravana. The artist produced a full size cartoon, from which the stone mason - who trained at Angkor Wat - has delivered a truly inspirational piece of work. Shipping and installation demanded absolute care and professional attention.
